I have been doing all kinds of knitting for Trace.  I started out with a couple SheepyTime Sleepers.  I had some left over grey wool and decided to make a matching hat but then I started to run out and used some cream wool to help me finish.  I still need to do a little embellishment on these and make the drawstrings.  But this is just the beginning.

Here is a cotton hooded blanket that I am also making.  This one is taking a little more time but I am about half way done.

As tradition follows, my mom crocheted a blanket for Trace.  And it turned out beautifully.

I can’t wait to give it to Trace, that is if Micah doesn’t claim it as his own as he has already tried.

Now on to some pictures of the boy’s.  Micah is all decked out in his Red Sox attire.

This is becoming quite common.  The boy’s actually playing together.  This can melt my heart in a second.

Whom I am very proud of.  She went to California last weekend for her first Crossfit Games.  She triple tied for 8th place out of 100 women.  She had a great attitude going into the competition.  She just wanted to have fun and try to compete against her own times vs the other competitors.  As you can tell, she did very well and we are so proud of her.

We will back up a little bit before we get to all the excitement. Micah has finally decided to wear hats now and what better timing as you will see later. Here he is in his Red Sox hat and shirt.

You may have noticed some redness around Micah’s mouth. I guess both the boy’s have very sensitive skin because that redness is caused by strawberry cream cheese. They get it from mustard, cottage cheese, bbq sauce, pasta salad and that is all I can think off the top of my head right now.

Micah has a new fascination with Ranen’s Leapster.

And he does pretty well.

This was once a rare picture but seems to be more of the norm lately. They have really started playing together and having fun. Micah is not screaming at every little thing which is a much needed break.

On Saturday, we got a surprise package from Papa and Nana Rosie.

The boy’s got some stamps and a few little Pooh bear books. This is great as Ranen is my child that does not seem to like crafts that much. He doesn’t like to color or draw. But I am excited to try a new craft project with the boy’s. Micah is more of the artistic child.

And I guess Papa and Nana Rosie heard thru the grapevine that we have a child that LOVES John Deere.

This is from yesterday after church. The boy’s watch a little TV as I prepare lunch.

After doing my shopping today, I see this picture on the camera. You can tell Daddy was on duty. I guess a little PB&J in the hair works as a great styling gel.

And last but not least, I thought this was so cute that I had to include it. This is how much the boy’s love playing with their daddy. Ranen is still learning how to play with his brother without hurting him all the time.

I don’t feel like I have a whole lot to say but there are a few really cute pictures that I wanted to share. Jason and I spent a good part of Saturday working on the shed but needless to say, we forgot our sunscreen. Both of us got quite burnt. But we made some progress on the shed. Almost all the walls are up and most of the roof.

We then cooled off with some Italian Ice. The boy’s were more than happy to help us cool off.

And last but not least, introducing Rolly Polly

My beloved Lizard Ridge afghan is gonna have to wait.  I just bought this pattern and have alot of work ahead of me.  After talking to Jason we have decided to use cloth and disposables with Trace.  The disposables will be for outings and around the house will be cloth.  It will also depend on the outfit she is wearing.  But we are happy with this middle ground solution.  We will still be saving money on disposable but will not go as hard core as we did with Micah.

Now, I have to find a blanket that I want to knit for her and I am tossing around the idea of making her “coming home” outfit.  But I have not begun the search for that yet.  So little time…

Since the weather has been a little bit more mild the past few days, I have actually wanted to take the boy’s outside. I usually want to stay in because it is WAY TOO HOT for me. And the pregnancy factor only adds to the situation. But today was a fine day for the pool.

As the boy’s were eating breakfast, I got everything ready. After breakfast, I lathered them in sunscreen and got them dressed. They were so excited to go out. I was not getting my hopes up to high that they would actually play IN the pool after our last attempt. But I was pleasantly surprised.

After Ranen chased me with the hose for a little bit, we turned it off and put our attention into the slide and pool.

Back to some more pool time fun.

After all our outside fun, I needed to get the boy’s inside and start getting ready for Jason’s breakfast and the boy’s lunch. Then the boy’s were going to go down for naps/quiet time early today so that Jason and I could prepare for our weekly visit from the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

We have been meeting with them for the past 8-10 months or so but in the past couple months, it has gotten a little more intense as we are getting in deeper as they come on a weekly basis.

This is what our study session looked like today. We had our bibles, concordance, bible dictionary, our new interlinear bible and many, many notes.

All this prep work and we just chit chatted today. But we will be even more prepared for next Wednesday.

And this last picture from yesterday was too cute not to include. This is what happens when you tell your child to get his finger out of this nose. He sticks it in even further. This child has an obsession with his finger in his nose.

And last thing that I forgot to add to the ultrasound post the other day.  After much anticipation, I have been feeling Trace move around for the past couple weeks.  Since my pregnancy has gone so smoothly (with the exception of a little sciatic nerve pain) I really needed to feel movement to reassure me that Trace was still doing well in there.

Each night, after I put the boy’s to bed and sit at my computer, I look forward to a little bonding time with my daughter.  Now that the initial shock has worn off, it is starting to sink in that we are having a girl.  Both Jason and I honestly anticipated having another boy (which would have been wonderful) but we didn’t entertain the thought too much of having a girl.  I think we are both surprised at how excited we are to be having a little girl. Grandma has already started the shopping.  Good thing we still have a few months because we are not used to looking for a girl’s name.  And it is not going as smoothly as it did with the boy’s.

We started the day off bright and early, rising at 6am to make our 8:15 appointment. We got Ranen up about 6:30 so he could go with us. And we let Micah slumber as Ms. Judy and the kids were coming over to watch him while we were gone.

I ate my traditional ultrasound breakfast of toast with peanut butter and orange juice (we stopped by Bojangle’s for Jason and Ranen’s breakfast). I have had this breakfast previously with the first two and it made them very active, so we had plenty of chances to see gender. But today, Trace decided to go with a much mellower approach. We got to see a little movement from Trace but not much. Trace had a heart rate of 138.

The technician said if she was able to tell, would we like to know the gender and we gave a definite yes. Everything with Trace looked great. A healthy child. When done, she started wiping off the probe. I said “You were not able to tell the gender?” and she forgot that we wanted to know.

She took another look at Trace and she said “Congratulations!!! I’m 99.9% sure it’s a ______!” I guess they don’t want to give a full 100% for their protection against lawsuits.

This has got to be one of the cutest videos I have ever come across.

Also know as pregnancy brain in my case.  I have been making this Lizard Ridge Afghan and I am half way through.  The pattern repeats over and over again every 12 rows.  There are 8 (12 row) repeats per square.  I have made about 12 squares and can you believe that I all of the sudden forgot how to do a certain stitch.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME!?!?!?!

After a little research to relearn how to do this stitch, I think I am back on track again.  Hopefully it won’t happen again.
