After a 4 month hiatus, I picked up my needles once again. I needed a little break after all my Christmas knitting. Besides a headband, this is my first project for myself. I have had my eyes on the Lizard Ridge Afghan since last June. Back then, I was a little intimidated by the short rows but I have become more comfortable with them since doing a few soakers for Micah.
For the short rows, I am doing Mandi’s directions for the wrap and turn vs what the instruction say, and I find them very easy now.
In the last week, I have completed 3 of the 24 squares. I would like to complete it before June, when we find out the sex of the baby. Then I will probably be doing lots of baby knitting.

Square #3-This picture really shows you what the short rows do. They cause little bubbles, hence “Lizard” Ridge. Once you block the work, the bubbles will flatten.
This has come at a perfect time, as I have been wanting to limit my computer time more. This gives me a chance to get caught up on some of my podcasts that I love to listen to. And it is a nice relaxing activity for the evenings.
Now that I have updated, it is time to get back to my knitting.
