Every few months, I sit down and organize my expired coupons so that I can send them to our troops overseas. Through a program called Overseas Coupon Program (OCP), our troops can use our expired coupons up to 6 months after the expiration date. And this is such a wonderful concept as they don’t get a Sunday paper.
We have adopted a base in Sicily and every few months, I ship our coupons. It takes a little effort on my part, as I calculate how much the face value of the coupons amounts to. And they are separated by food and non-food items.
I went to the post office yesterday to send these out priority mail so they get the most out of the coupons.
My total for yesterday totaled $ 1398.78.
And to think all of that would have gone in the trash. I feel it is a little way that I can tell our troops how much I appreciate what they do for us. And I hope my boy’s will someday have a greater understanding how important the efforts of our troops really are.

That is a great thing to do. I didn’t know of the need for it.
