As a mother of two young boys, I am always trying to find ways to use as little brain power as possible since I have a very limited amount to work with. I gave it all to my boy’s during pregnancy. And one thing that has helped me tremendously is to have a password cheat sheet. On this sheet, I have all my email addresses listed at the top, followed by my online bills.
And then begins the long list of email/password combinations needed for the various sites that I visit. Nowadays, it seems you have to sign up for every website you visit whether you visit once or a hundred times.
This method has been very freeing. I didn’t realized how much I was subconsciously trying to remember all my passwords and now I don’t have to worry.
I keep my cheat sheet right next to my computer and each time I don’t remember a password, I have it in my hands within seconds.
I am trying to get in the habit of changing my passwords every three months for added protections, as well as signing up with Zander Insurance for Identity Theft Protection since we have had some issues in the past.

Thank you for sharing. I wish I could suck that page right out of the picture and >poof!< pop it right into my hands as my very own! I love it!
So often I have to change my pw’s not for added protection but because I’ll come back to a site and go through all the combinations of e-mail addresses and pw possibilities and finally just give up and have them e-mail me a new pw!
What a great idea! I have a friend that has them all written down in a little notebook in her desk. I seriously need to do something like that!
I have mine on a post-it note in my desk…but then I can never find the post it! LOL! thanks for the idea
Do you hide this anywhere or are you the only one with access to your computer? The risks are pretty scary.
That is too strange…I have a sheet that looks *exactly* like that! I agree…couldn’t live without it!
I should look into some identity theft insurance too though- is it very expensive? I suppose I should also change my passwords from time to time. Thanks for the reminder.

Matt had the idea for us to do this a while back. At first I thought it was just him being anal, but it has come in soooo handy. I used to get locked out of sites frequently because I’d try like 5 different passwords and they were always wrong. It’s so nice to have our little cheat sheet now!
I do something similar only I use an index card file box. I put the website address at the top of the card and then all pertinent information under that. I can make notes or write whatever I want because there is plenty of room on the front and back of the card. Then I file it alphabetically in the file box. If I no longer use a certain website I just throw the card away. I keep the file box by my computer. I haven’t had to worry about someone sneaking a peak because I don’t have that many people around my computer….but if that were a concern I could lock the box in my file drawer.
very nice web site. My English is not so good, so I do not understandt it well, but it seems very good. Thanks
